BookExpo America will be a blast!

I can't wait to head to New York City next Thursday to participate in BookExpo America, the largest book and author event in the United States, with more than 500 authors and 1,000-plus exhibitors. As a Headline Books Featured Author, I'll be signing copies of Cancer on the Brain in the author autographing area at Table 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, then moving to booth 2368 from 1 to 2 p.m. to sign more copies with Headline Books. Come see me!

The event is also a great opportunity for me to hear directly from some of the biggest names in the publishing world right now, and BookExpo has some huge talent lined up for its series of Book Author Breakfasts.

On Thursday, actor Neil Patrick Harris will MC a discussion including actress Anjelica Huston, TV and radio host Tavis Smiley and thriller author Lisa Scottoline.

The four big names speaking Saturday also all have new books coming out. Actor Alan Cumming is publishing a new family memoir, Not My Father's Son, while Martin Short is offering a memoir of his own, I Must Say. Filmmaker and Girls star Lena Dunham is releasing her first book, Not That Kind of Girl.

In addition to hearing from publishing's best and brightest, I'll also be on the lookout for Book TV's mobile recording unit, which does short spotlight interviews with non-fiction authors. I'd love to talk about Cancer on the Brain and share my journey with their audience. I'm also eagerly hoping to participate in the 2014 Author Chats series, powered by Shindig. Past writers involved includeThe Devil Wears Prada scribe Lauren Weisberger and Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk. Shindig live-streams the author chats directly from the BookExpo floor.

So many exciting events and opportunities! I'll be tweeting from @COTBbook and updating my Facebook page with photos and observations, so be sure to follow me there. BookExpo 2014 should be a blast.
